Tour 5A – The Centre of Power in the III. Reich – Literary Tour

On our walking tour from Berlin’s Old Government District to the boulevard Unter den Linden, we will take in various historical places and buildings confronting us with the darkest age in German history. Literary quotes and testimonies will witness to history and show us the effects of the nazi propaganda on film and theater during the Third Reich. We will encounter and learn about assassins, martyrs, opportunists and the book burning on Bebelplatz in 1933.

With selected texts from Sigfried Kracauer, Alfred Kerr, Heinz Knobloch, Klaus Mann, Rolf Hochhuth, Arnold Zweig, Erich Kästner, Kurt Tucholsky et al.
