Tour 4 – Unter den Linden Walking Tour
Starting our tour on the Museum Island, we explore its ancient temple complex with an ensemble of five museums on the Spree Island. We then continue our walk across the Lustgarten and the construction site of the City Castle along the boulevard Unter den Linden in order to explore the various historic buildings on our way to Bebelplatz at the centre of the Forum Fridericianum vis-à-vis Humboldt University. You can still see the famous corner window where Emperor William I watched the daily parade Unter den Linden as well as the memorial « sunken library » by artist Micha Ullmann that reminds the book burning under the nazi regime in 1933. Our tour ends on Gendarmenmarkt that is often referred to as Europe’s most beautiful place.
