Tour 5 – The Center of Power in the 3rd Reich
On our way from Berlin’s Old Government District to the boulevard Unter den Linden, we come to pass historical places associated with the Third Reich: the Old and the New Reich Chancellery, the Hotel Kaiserhof where Hitler resided and the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda that regulated the German press and culture according to Nazi ideology. We will deal with how Hitler narrowly escaped several assassination attempts, with his suicide in the Führerbunker, with how propaganda was organized in the media as well as with the book burning on Bebelplatz of the former Friedrichforum.
